Custom Curtiss P-40 Warhawk

After finishing two ME-109's and a Ta-183 Huckebein, I've decided to do an American counter-part for the Germans, the Warhawk. I've always loved this plane, and now finally have the chance to build it. I'm still deciding on what type of colors I'm going to use, but it'll most likely be in camo. Who knows, maybe even an American version of the German Nachtjager camo, since I like the look of it. We'll see how it goes.

Nice, looking forward to another one-of-a-kind FG. Great way to take advantage of the B&W kits they offer.

Yeah, I like doing models in my own style. Plus, it saves A LOT of ink.

After debating over which colors to use for the repaint, I finally decided to color the P-40 in winter winter camouflage. It's the quickest and easiest repaint I've done to date. Bout' a half hour it took. I'm gonna try and get the fuselage done tonight, if not, tomorrow then. Anyway, here it is.

Jarrod,

The P-40 is a great plane, I have the Prudenziati version next in my queue. It will be nice to compare the models. It looks like you color the B&W print outs by hand, is that correct? What do you use?

George

Yes, your are correct George. I only use markers and paint (to color landing gear struts). The type of marker I use are Lique-Mark Washable Broadline Markers. I get mine at the dollar store. The colors are nice and bright, so it's easy to see them. Plus, they're great in quantity. I know they range from a 6 pack all the way to a 100 pack.

Well guys, it's on-hold time. I was playing football after school today and took a hard tackle and face planted on the ground. My entire face has swelled up and I can barely see right now. The swelling should be gone by tomorrow, cus my medication has already reduced about 1/4 of the swelling since about 5:00 P.M. But still it's not enough to finish the model. I've finished everything but the wings, so pictures will be up either tomorrow or sometime before the weekend. We'll see how much of the swelling goes down.

P.S. I'm not typing right now if your wondering. My cousin is doing it for me.

Finished Product

Now that the swelling has gone down, I was able to finish the P-40. I add some black thread to the plane for some added detail. I think it looks great. Anyway, here it is.

Very neatly done, Jarrod my friend.
Your colouring of it for some reason makes the P40 stand more than the other colourschemes usually seen on model of this aircraft.

Kind and Respectful Regards Jarrod my friend, Uyraell.
