I am not so fast, I fear.
I tried a little variant, layering paper. However I should have stayed with the manual.... as the material became too thin. Well, you never stop learning. |

o.k. an here are some views of the core-wings:
Also visible is some edge coloring. And finally, tataa... The core. One remark to the model parts design and layout on the pages: This is all very well designed: you can build it page by page (the parts are carefully placed) or change the building sequence without big problems during the later building process. You actually have never to look very far to find the next part (it's most likely on the same or next page) or wonder which part goes where. To put it simple: it is fun to build My compliments to wulf111 |

Thanks vipers7, looks like you are just about ready to lay the skins down. i haven't thought of a real good way to do that yet, i was more or less thinking spray adhesive or something not water based to minimize any warping or sagging. looks great so far, i did place a few parts in odd locations to try to reduce the number of pages but most are pretty straight forward i always layout the parts in a procedural setup as much as i can. i think for the final release i will get rid of most of the green areas that dint need to be there such as all the streaky lines on these pieces so it will cut back on the ink usage.
did you figure out a good way to install the vents in the front of the wing, i cheated a bit on mine, i cut out the flat frames then glued them inside the wings. |

Have you thought about using double-sided tape? I used some to apply a plastic toy to the top of my keyboard about two years ago for a show I was a part of. I was playing the main theme to Star Trek '09 and had the Playmates Enterprise, and thought it would look good on top of my keyboard for the event. Turns out every else thought the same thing. Anyway, the double-sided tape still hasn't come off of the keyboard. It will probably stick forever; you could see if it'll work for you. Keep in mind this was a quick fix thing by the stage hands, so it may have been special stage tape of some kind.

Wow the double-sided tape is a new idea. I only know this kind of tape from do-it-yourself home appliances,
e.g. fixing carpet on the floor. I never thought of using it on papermodels. Thanks for the idea! Glueing the core I used this idea ...in a variant: one sided tape. I also pay here for my unprecise building: The layer and the core does not fit 100% I assume I will cut the layer for a better fit. |
