Question JAS-39 Gripen - Hobby Model # 29

Anyone build this version of the SAAB Gripen? It is the demo version with the yellow and blue stripes ( ugly )? I wanted to see the finished product as I am building it now. The only pics I found is the Maly Modelarz version in the Polish forum which is not very impressive. I think I am building an ugly duckling.

Thanks

Isaac

This Gripen is the prototype version which once made me a bit surprised of its design that bending the wing with the fuselage. Quite difficult for design that made me headache for year until find the update one.

I had my fleet of the Gripen both C/D version with the Erieye.

The Maly Modelarz version is not totaly bad. It is just not very good ( same as the Hobby model version I have ). In any case here is a link with some pics.

Thanks for the link. Seeing the pics at least gives me a heads up as to potential issues.

Thumbs up

The instructions on my Hobby model are not clear ( the figures and sketches ( not the words which I ignore )).
Both are simple and really are crude, but anyhow it is an interesting model. I have the Vacuformed canopy from Gomix as well as a set of wheels. I wish Hobby Model re designed the kit to current standard.

I allready built the Draken , now building the Gripen, next will be the Viggen and last the SAAB 105. So all I need is a Lansen and a Tunan and lastly a J21R to round out the SAAB jets. I built them all in 1/72 scale plastic ( see pics ) . Nice small collection. Now for a paper collection of the lot.

Time is wasted, back to work ( on the models that is ).
