Erik,
In the sixties, the swiss army used several hundred Venom and Vampire on six major air bases (Meiringen [pict1], Dübendorf, Payerne,...). A dozen of secondary bases were in the Alps (Ulrichen [pict2], St-Stephan, ...). The planes were not based in one place but changed according to the exercices. Meiringen obviously hosted such planes.
Yes, I want to continue Fw 190D ... wich is patiently waiting in a box.

Isaac,
Burgundy isn't far from my home. You are right: patience and years make the result better. I made a lot of testing and result should be fine; I hope so.

Regards, dayn

I need an ejection seat (Martin Baker Mk2) for my project and I built one from scratch.
Here are 4 pictures of my creation.

I have other photos of the work in progress.

I chose to use paper with a metallic appearance. The result is very realistic but three difficulties appeared:
a) the paper is too thick and needs to be thinned,
b) the paper is much too stiff to be properly curved,
c) the joints between curved parts will be imprecise.
So I won't be able to use this paper for the plane. It's a shame because the appearance is very successful (picture 3).

1) drawing of parts with the computer
2) printing the ejection seat on the metallic paper
3) printing the nose of the plane on the metallic paper
4) cutting of the parts
5) scraping the parts to thin the paper
6) main parts are ready to be assembled

The headrest is made of balsa wood.
A few more details and it remains to "dress" the seat.

The ejection seat is a masterpiece in itself.

rmsk2000 and Siwi, thank you for your congratulations.

Here is the rest of the photos:
1) Harness straps are too thick on paper coming out of the printer,
2) it' necessary to make them thinner.
3) The result is pretty good!
4) The harness buckles are made from metal ĝ 0.25 mm,
5) the straps must be slipped through the buckles.
6) The buckles that will be at the end of the straps are different.
7) The harness is finished after several hours of work and patience.

I often use masking tape for seatbelts. It comes ready made about the right thickness, texture and colour and the added benefit of stickiness to help it lie realistically on a seat weighed down with the buckles.
