Nice! I was wondering how that Junkers F13 will turn out.

Hello my friends!
After a few days without updates, I bring you some news on Hawker Horsley and the Scissors and Planes building carousel. Horsley I started building a foam jig to install the wings. The carousel construction is almost finished, missing only the NiD-629 and the Peruvian F-86, both of which had their parts cut. And I hope throughout this week to finalize the pre-assembly to carry out the finalizations. Today is a CCCP meeting is time to turn on F-13. |

I see you glue the wings before cutting the wingtips. Does this guarantee against warping the wing shape?

Thanks Siwi. This is a technique I learned with Rata, in general the excess has two purposes: to allow the alignment of the wing faces in the gluing and really to prevent the wing from bending longitudinally.

That is a very crowded production line. Luckily the plane all have different color schemes so you keep them apart.
As always, looking closely with awe (I try not to drool because that would ruin the models)

Thank you my friend! Coming from the great master, I am more than flattered, because if it weren't for you none of this would be happening. I hope to make it worth it in these constructions. The work plan is to start with the jets and the Horsley but initially I have to manufacture his jig. The Breguet XIX and NiD 629 should be next, and the others I never built last. I'm excited about this build in sequence. She took a little longer than usual due to the change of address and other situations but I think it will be worth the wait.

Hello friends!
This weekend I had little time to work on the bench but I was able to advance some things. I started building the Hawker Horsley jig. There is little information about this plane, so I tried to create a jig that could facilitate the gluing of the interplanes, here we see phase 1 with the immobilization of the plane and the shims to maintain the dihedral of the wings. In this phase we will install the central hut and some parts that need to be installed before rigging the model. The jig is mostly made with depron (high density styrofoam) with some cardboard sticks serving as shoes, I tend to pin them with sewing pins or map pins to use as a base for other projects. The study of how the jig should be done is usually careful, involving studying well the shapes of the plane that will be installed in it. Yesterday I worked on the last model of the carousel, the F-86 , which had most of its parts built. I expect today to finalize the fuselage and start building all the models, following the order more or less stipulated in previous posts. Certainly after the carousel I will return to the "one model at a time" mode. And about the models at the CCCP, at the end of last week we didn't have the club meeting because we had the advent of an extratropical cyclone that ended up keeping everyone at home. Fortunately there were no damages, but we had winds of 120km/h and more than 200 mm of rain in just one day. So I hope tomorrow to start my German trio for the Junkers F-13. |

I like your foam jig. I think I could do something similar with a piece of foam core, with wax paper or plastic wrap underneath to prevent the glue from sticking.
All of this batch of models looks good, but I especially like the Horsely. Don |

Thanks Don!
I'm a little late because of personal and professional commitments, but I'll wait until the weekend to have good updates to show you around here. |
