Rebuilding the Mirage 2000 C in 1/48 scale (rescale for 1/100 SnP)
After a failed attempt to build the 1/100 SnP version of the Mirage 2000 C, I decided to restart it with a rescale to 1/48, taking into account the good tips you all gave me.
I'll post my progress here. Here are the first 5 section I assembled (the fuselage front and back). Behind you can see the missed 1/100 model... I really hope I will manage to get a decent build this time. I'm taking all feedback on how I could improve it. |

As I presume there aren't any internal formers supplied, it might be a good idea to strengthen the centre fuselage with some rolls of paper coiled inside the glue tabs at joins - you are going to be handling the model as you assemble the sections and it should help stop it getting deformed whilst you push sections together.

Small steps Siwi. Small steps. He will get to it at his own pace. Patience is the second name of this hobby.
Trying too many new-to-me tricks at the same time did lead to few major disasters with my models. |

Almost done with the fuselage. Front and back are still separate.
The intakes section is not yet glued to the front. Despite all the pictures I got, I'm still trying to find the right way to properly insert the cone and its support. |

Thanks all the nice words!
I realize it's still far from the quality of the models you build and show in your own threads, but my goal is to learn from all of you. Here's the next steps: - added the black "cap" at the end of the fuselage - built the wings (*) and the vertical stabilizer (*) I had to reprint their bottom because in my rescaling they were overlapping the margins that my printer decided not to print... |
