Johnny,

Thanks; especially for the link. I had not idea that she was popular with wargamers!

One of my modeling holy grails is building one of the Tamiya Radio Control cars or trucks they have.

When I was a kid, I always looked at the kits, and wanted to build one, some high school friends had gotten kits, and I visited with them, and watched the build, knowing full well I could build one.

Now the question becomes which kit?

What a great discussion! I have a short list of Grails

1) Wilhelmshavener/Lehrmittelinstitut's English Electric Lightning P1b (Not the reworked F1 version)
2) Alcan Mini 1905 Benz automobile
3) Alphakits AK3 Phantom Jet
4) Hooton Aircraft (Mixed Media) Avro 504, and DH83
5) Manfred Schmidt's M.S. OldTimers Grahame-White biplane, Whitehead aircraft

These are not remembered models from my youth, but rather elusive prey that have escaped a complulsive collector.

Back in the 1970s I had a one page model of a Septcat Jaguar, my first ever card model I built. Wish I could find it again

Hello friends,

my holy grail is:

to live long enough to build all models I want!

But I'm shure, I can never ever reach that kind of athanasia.

For me, it is not the actual old paper model, but rather seeing a good repaint of it. Many of the old models from the 60s, 70s were so primitive and simple, that today, I would not bother building. But if they were cleaned up, it would be a true pleasure . A case in point are the old WHV kits like the Nord Noratlas. I still have this kit, but really do not want to build it as is.
