Seeking the S.55 Float Plane!
I found a good version of the Savoia-Marchetti S.55, a fascinating plane. The craft was amazing for the period, rivaling other 1920's craft in performance, despite its unorthodox deign.
I found a copy at Bob's card models: Bobs Card Models Its worth a look. Its small, at 1/72, so i have looked to other models for a larger, more detailed version. I found a book I bought on Amazon (which is now missing in PO purgatory!!), and I found an older posting for a different version, at this site: Bruno's S-55X This model of Bruno Vanhecke's S-55X appears to be larger and have different parts shaping the pontoon-hulls. Does anyone know where to find his kit? The posting above never lists the location. Thanks!

Contact Bruno directly via his email. He has been a bit quiet for some time but may respond.

I agree with Bob. I posted this in Nando's thread regarding Bruno's S-55X:
It is No. 872 on Bruno's list of models, so it should be available from him. I recommend a PM to him at scissorsandplanes Also on the list are: 873. Savoia Marchetti S55M Italy 874. Savoia Marchetti S55A Brazil 875. Savoia Marchetti S55A Italy Stripes 876. Savoia Marchetti S55A Jahû Don |
