Rob Ives has nice paper automatas, I will definitely glue more, I just think that the mechanism is undersized...when I glue the next one, I will think about it and reinforce it regularly.
It can also be done as you write, this is how I applied glue to the gears of the angel paper automata...

The last penguin didn't quite work the way I wanted, so I glued another one from K.Saka and this one is working nicely... A few photos:

I like that. It looks as though it could be brutal.

Tea-Serving Robot
(paper automata)

Autor: Keisuke Saka

Zdroj: etsy.com

Video: -

Another paper automata from Keisuke Saka, this time it's a slightly clumsy tea serving robot.
This automata can also be purchased digitally on etsy.com. I didn't make any adjustments, everything fit when gluing, and as always with this author, and the finished automata works nicely.

Rob Ives has so many models

Do you think that something like that would help?

I think I have almost all Rob's digital models. His were the first I encountered after I acquired Paul Spooner's Spooner's Moving Animals (which I still haven't built) which got me hooked on paper models and automata in particular.

I bought a few of Rob's models via mail order, then bought some when he started offering them as downloadables. When he started the memberships I signed up and have been a member ever since.

If I could I would go to this year's automata con. I just can't work it out right at the moment.

Some of the instructions for his models are better than others. I have been following for so long that I have a sense of how they should go together.

I am enjoying this thread immensely.

Another long-time follower of Rob Ives, Michael42er has a nice YT channel where he built and did mash-ups with lots of Rob's automata. Recently he has been building vintage moving toys and he always does a great job.

I like paper automata, Michael42er's videos also motivated me to try it and when I glued the first automata I didn't stop and I'm still trying more...
The best for me is automatas by Keisuke Saka, who always has perfect picture instructions, I have (or have already glued) other authors in my archive (Rob Ives, Walter Ruffler, Keith Newstead, Paperpino...) I didn't know Paul Spooner, but I already ordered something from him.
I still have a small request, I bought a Roman Gladiators paper automata a long time ago, but recently I found out that I have one page twice and another is missing... I needed a scan of this missing page...
