Alberie 1/200
I finshed (a couple ladders short that I only noticed after editing the pictures) the Algerie from, see the picture. The model was a pleasure to build and the components generally fit well. The printing is average for newer kits and the design is above average. The paper, well it's Russian and is subpar quality. I built the model with no modifications other than the three bridge and side faces. The kit uses a dark blue to represent the windows and leaves no room for cut out. I retraced all components in Autocad and color matched them as best I could. I prefer to cut out all windows and believe this to be a significant improvement over the kit offering. I did not apply any filler or paint to the lower hull, a tetsiment to the overall fit.

Final pictures - computer is getting tired.
The stern did not match very well. I built the kit with balsa laminated on both sides, typical when I do not use the laser cut formers. The rails are some old Tom's Model Works. Joe |

Too bad about the stern. Compound curves are tough to deal with. However, the model is still a beauty! You did a great job on it. It is one of the nicest looking paper models I've seen lately.

What a beautiful model of one of the most beautiful cruisers ever built.
In the great scheme of things, the slightly misaligned stern is trivial. You did a superb job on this lovely ship. Don |

There are so many terrific things about this project.
But my favorites are the cranes (fabulous) and the catapult & aircraft. Absolutely wonderful. Mike |
