I fully realize you've got a lot of spunk in building this ship. Your friend's grandfather will be mighty pleased. Look forward to well deck with full of cargoes

More details

Thanks Yu!

More details added. Ship's boat, cable reel, draped hoses, cargo in the well deck (potable water containers, fuel drums, more to come here). I started adding details to the main mast. The staff with flag is up, and I'm adding all the rigging right now, although not shown in these shots.

Tonight I'm finishing stanchions and rails on the bow and steps. Quickly closing in on the finish. I need to drop by hobby lobby and pick up a piece of board to mount the LSM to. Got to stain it first. That will be the finishing touch...

Looks wonderful EIB!
The mast and flag are a great touch. This project has more detail than one might guess. Hope to see some great finish shots soon.
Mike

Thanks for the praise everyone.

I've mounted the LSM to a display board. I've given the ship a final coat of "dull" clear acrylic print sealer. I'm in the process of putting the final loads of cargo in her well deck. These are cut block of wood that are cavass covered and painted to look like old tarps.

I should have the finished photos up in the next couple days. Completion is near!

LSM Finished!

Hello everyone. I wrapped up LSM 156 the other night and had a chance to take some finished photos of her. The main addition since the last update are canvass covered crates in the well deck. These were made by cutting 3/4" wood stake in 1-1/2" lengths. I used an old tee-shirt as canvass material and glued it tight to the cubes. Overcoated with Tamiya acrylic beige to get that nice weathered canvass look.

The mounting board was a piece of nice wood craft that I picked up at Hobby Lobby for $7. Now she's complete and ready to present. I've got to arrange a time with my friend so we can meet up with his grandfather. That should be fun. I'll upload pictures of the presentation when I get the chance.
